Silver Sulphate

We are a leading Wholesaler of 25g Merck Silver Sulfate from Vadodara, India.

Silver sulfate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Ag2SO4 that has many uses, including:

  • Catalyst

Silver sulfate can be used as a catalyst in the synthesis of poly-styrene sulfonic acid (PSSA) from Styrofoam.

  • Precursor

Silver sulfate can be used as a precursor in the synthesis of silver nanowire arrays.

  • Silver plating

Silver sulfate is used in the silver plating process. However, it is not as effective as silver cyanide and doesn't produce the same quality plating.

  • Bandages

Silver sulfate is used in bandages to cover wounds. Silver is an antibacterial agent that can kill bacteria cells and prevent them from coming into contact with the wound.

Silver sulfate is a white solid that is odorless and minimally soluble in water. It darkens and forms a light black layer when exposed to natural air or light.

Silver sulfate is hazardous to the aquatic environment and can cause eye irritation. If ingested or inhaled for a long period, silver compounds can cause permanent discoloration of the skin.
